Artist Statement

Capturing a scene from life, if even for a moment is a wonderful gift. To paint in the same manner with the same tools that the great artists throughout the ages have used is exciting and daunting. To paint light and shadows and shapes is difficult and wonderful. ...To escape to that place where everyday thoughts dissolve into air... that is the thing that the painter seeks. And to produce from canvas and pigments a work that has life in it... and to put ones name on it... is a pure joy.
